Younger generations of emerging leaders are not satisfied with mere intellectual prowess in the Bible or the Gospel itself. They don't want to learn about God, they want to know Him personally. They want to see the Gospel at work in the power of God transforming lives. We have observed this desire expressed by young leaders from the US, Europe, and the Middle East in one way or another.

The power of the Gospel is evidenced not only in miracles and healings, but more clearly in transformed lives; in repentance and humility, in forgiveness, in submission to authority, and in bold witness of Jesus Christ. These may not be very popular or glitzy evidence, but they do speak volumes. I am impressed to see someone healed in an instant, but I am more impacted when I see someone choose to follow Jesus day in and day out over years in the face of adversity and opposition. This is a greater testimony of the power of the Gospel to transform individuals and communities.

Every year we pray for a select group of young men and women to join our ministry for a short period of time in order to experience the power of the Gospel to transform them along with others at Access Ministry Center. Some have come for one week to pray and receive inner healing, others have come for 10 months to live with the Access community and live the relationships they are longing for. In 2018 we are planning the following International Community Events:

1. Summer trip to Lebanon:

  • Two day orientation in the US (for US residents) and Germany (for EU residents).
  • Two weeks in Lebanon participating in discipleship groups, evangelistic bible studies, ministry to Syrian refugees, and Scripture distribution.
  • Follow up planning for Transforming Your Community in the US and Germany.
  • Quarterly meetings for Transforming Community leaders in the US and Germany.

2. Short term ministry internships:

  • Access International School
  • Access Carpentry
  • Sustainable Farming Internship (must be able to travel and live in Syria)

  1. God Himself is a community. Although He is One God, He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three are in relationship with each other. They are the Community of God.
  2. God wants to reveal Himself.  He made us in His image so we can know Him (See Genesis 3).  He gave us person-hood and awareness so we can experience Him in relationship (see John 4:22-24; John 17:3).
  3. God's plan and desire for relationship is also clearly seen in the Great Commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39.
